Windsurfing in Chiclana

  • The town of Chiclana de la Frontera is located slightly inland with its beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean, just below Cadiz, and is a well known tourist destination in Spain.
  • It’s a perfect spot if you want to learn windsurfing or if you are a beginner, in fact, Chiclana’s bay is sufficiently protected and the easterly wind coming from the Strait of Gibraltar is not as strong as in Tarifa.
  • And when there is no easterly, it means that the Poniente is blowing from the west, creating more challenging conditions for the average surfer, as the waves can build up to substantial heights. Normally you will not find days without some wind, so every month of the year is good for windsurfing.
