Walking in Cabo de Gata

  • The natural park of Cabo de Gata spreads on the Mediterranean coast of Almeria. It's a vast protected area, an arid and dry landscape, with high mountains and cliffs that literally drop into the sea.
  • You can choose to follow different paths, exploring the volcanic mountains in the inner part of the park, or following the coastline, walking along the steep cliffs (unless you suffer from vertigo). You can also do both and maybe finish with a refreshing dip in some deserted cove.
  • The hikes can last several hours, but if you just want to take a beach stroll, remember that there are several small beaches and coves that can only be reached on foot, like the Calas Barronal and the Cala de Enmedio.
